Birth support package $2000
3x2 hour prenatal visits at home in your third trimester
Unlimited text/call support throughout your pregnancy
On call from 38 weeks until your baby is born
Labour support from when you need it (home or place of birth) until 2 hours after bub arrives
1x2 hour postpartum visit, including a nourishing family meal and snack
*ask us about modified package options including a reduced pack for experienced families
Additional postpartum support $90/hour (2 hour minimum booking)

What to expect
Birth preparation and postpartum appointments are tailored to your needs, and can include:
Pregnancy and birth
Birth education and resources to help you achieve a positive birth mindset
Working with you to develop your birth preferences (birth map)
Teaching you birth tools and positions, including natural methods of pain management
Providing a familiar and comforting presence during your labour, particularly important for women without continuity of care
Creating a birthing environment that protects your privacy and allows you to be free of distractions, pressure and fear
Guiding your birthing partner to support you in the best way possible, and providing hands on support if you would like it
Bridging communication gaps between you and your healthcare providers, including translating medical terminology, navigating hospital policies and assisting you to communicate your choices effectively
Providing information to help you make empowered decisions, honouring your chosen path and wholeheartedly supporting you through it.

Meal and snack preparation to keep you nourished and lighten your workload
Light house duties – laundry, cleaning, groceries, making appointments for you
Caring for bub while you have time to yourself or with other children

Evidence
While we can’t guarantee an outcome for your birth, studies have shown that women with supportive labour companions have better outcomes, shorter labours and need less pain medication. One US study, by Klaus and Kennel, found that having a doula present at a birth decreased:
Epidural use by 60% and narcotics use by 30%
Length of labour by 25%
Caesarean birth by 50%
